A faded scrapbook reveals secrets that reconnect old friends in a place called Sweethaven. Campbell Carter has come to Sweethaven in search of answers about her mother’s history.

Just before losing a battle with cancer, Suzanne Carter sent letters to childhood friends from her hometown of Sweethaven, Michigan.

Suzanne’s three friends — Lila, Jane, and Meghan — haven’t spoken in years, yet each has pieces of a scrapbook they made together as girls. Suzanne’s letters have lured them all back to the idyllic lakeside town, where they meet Campbell and begin to remember what was so special about their long Sweethaven summers.

As the scrapbook reveals secrets from the past, old wounds are mended, lives are changed, and friendships are restored — just as Suzanne intended. Read more Read less.

I loved this book because it was about scrapbooking and friendship and loss and reconnecting. Four girls were inseparable as teens, then grew apart when one kept a secret from the others and when another’s son drowns. All have been away from Sweethaven for a number of years.

They started a scrapbook at the insistence of one of the girls. A scrapbook that was later divided up sqeethaven the 4 before they all went their separate ways.

One gets cancer and returns. Just as she’s about to tell her daughter who her father is, she takes a turn for the worse, leaving her daughter to search for answers on her own. This leads to the daughter reconnecting with 2 of her mother’s former friends and the mother of the 3rd friend. The 3rd friend doesn’t make an appearance until late in the book.

I decided to purchase this book based on the description because I was not familiar with this author. I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed this book!! The characters were interesting people sweethven I looked forward to reading more and more about them. I started reading Christian symmer a few years ago and this is one of the better books I have read in that genre.

The author did a great seeethaven of not interjecting scripture in awkward places in the book just to fulfill some unwritten quota to qualify a novel as “Christian fiction”.

I have already purchased another kindle book by this author and will look forward to her future books. What a wonderful story.

I loved the storyline, the friendships which are such a big part of this story, and every woman who sukmer girlfriends in their lives from grade school will love this. I was expecting just a “girly” summer at the beach type story. Was I ever surprised.

A much deeper story into each person and the scrap booking is perfect way to bring this story together. I never guessed who the mystery guy was, good job.

I felt like a part of the Sweethaven Circle by the time that I closed the book. It’s a sweet and inspiring read that will leave you wanting to read more about these amazing characters and charming town Don’t miss out on reading this incredible debut by author Courtney Walsh!

You won’t regret it! The characters and the circumstances are believable, likeable and not boring. The death that took place at the beginning drew me in. Perhaps a few more details about lives and relationships in the initial setting would have sweethzven helpful.

However, I was drawn in enough that I wanted to keep reading. I will read the two remaining books in the series. I loved this book! Mystery, romance, charming setting, novel plot, fascinating characters, while having an underlying Christian theme, I had a hard time putting this book down.

It deals with forgiveness issues in a realistic and candid manner. The characters are dimensional and unforgettable.

I loved this story. I especially loved the fact that the characters were so human and imperfect. It was also very believable. I think anyone who reads this would love to visit Sweethaven.

Maybe places like it still exist! The only problem I had was that the spacing made this confusing to read. The dialogue would change from one person to the next, and it would be within the same sentence, a new line or paragraph wouldn’t be started. This made it difficult to know who was speaking. This was probably only a problem with the Kindle sweethaveen, but it would make the book a lot more enjoyable to read if this was corrected.

I look forward to reading more in this series. Good, clean romance, but also thought-provoking. An enjoyable beach read, easy reading, fun topic of young teenage girls forming a club called ‘The Circle’ who get together each summer at a quaint sweethavdn on Lake Michigan for summer fun and growing up experiences.

Everyone in the story are interesting and most entertaining It takes place over 25 years, encountering countless problems along with wonderful pleasures. As all girls novels do, handsome attractive young men happen along intermingling with the young beautiful.

Hearts are alive with love and some are broken. Much growing up is experienced and learned. An entertaining, reminiscence read, times we all face growing older.
